Windows xp shutdown error

Hi

Presario 6000
Windows XP
1 1/2 year old

Never ran good and lot's of trouble

Now when I want to power down
I hit `Start`
I hit `Turn Off Computer`
I hit `Turn Off`

Screen Blanks for 2 seconds
Then I get error Window
"WToolsA.exe faile to initialize"
Scrren Blanks
Then unit goes thru a long Shutdown

Any help appreceiated

DO NOT BUY HP OR COMPAQ
NO HELP IN WARRANTY WHATSOEVER

Bought Compaq Junk with xp a year ago.

Nothing but trouble and alot of restores.
No help from Compaq, Carli too busy doing photo ops.

I'm not particularly fond of Compaqs, but this error has nothing to do
with Compaq and everything to do with you not running a firewall,
perhaps not keeping your antivirus updated, and not removing spyware.
The WinTools malware is particularly nasty. Here is a link to
instructions about removing it - please read the instructions carefully
as they are fairly complicated.

FYI more info
I use XP Firewall and it is on.
I use updated Norton antivirus and use automatic download
and scanning and also run manually
I use spybot and adaware spyware and run several times
daily.
I run disk scan daily several times.

I do have a slow dialup 28 kbps


Any other suggestions Please

The link works fine for me. Maybe the server was overloaded when you
tried.

There is a lot on the Internet now about Wtoolsa and/or Wintools. Just
Google for it.
