Windows XP setup error message

Alfie

I was having trouble with my current XP so i tried to
reinstall(upgrade option) from the same CD. Midway through
the setup a key error occurred and the computer has
restarted, when reboots it goes straight to windows setup
again and has same error and restarts, error restart and
so on.

I've tried booting in safe mode and says windows setup
can't run in safe mode.

Does anyone know a way i can cancel the windows set-up and
actually get into the old install or any other suggestions
of ways i can access anyhting on the computer.

.

I'm having the same problem. I lost the taskbar
(explorer.exe didn't load properly?) and when I tried to
do a "repair" installation I got an error 426 message and
now I'm locked into the same failure/restart loop. Hitting
F8 during startup gets me to the startup options screen,
but they all go right into setup, even "Last Known Good".
All help would be appreciated. I'll check back tonight and
tomorrow, but I'd really like to have answers via e-mail
also.

Thanks.
