Does anyone seem to be having the same problem as me. After being forced to
reformat my computer and reinstall XP then updating it my computer just keeps
shutting down when running some or even no programms. Any suggestions PLEASE
this is driving me crazy

I had the same problem, in that my computer would start

up, get to the Windows screen and then restart. This
happened again and again and finally forced me to
reinstall XP over the existing install. The machine then
worked fine except for the fact that I lost my sound
driver, which I have now reinstalled. The bigger problem
is that the machine works at about 1/4 the speed that it
did before I downloaded SP2. I am now trying to offload
SP2 and get back to normal. I believe that the original
problem might lie in Norton Internet Security, which is
the only difference between my machine and my wife's; she
does not have that program and the SP2 loaded with no
problems on her machine.
 
Mine was little different. I formatted my computer coz it kept on rebooting
after installation of SP2.

Later I found out it's due to USB2.0 issue. I have a mice driver downloaded
from WindowsUpdate website, and that caused it to behave crazily.

Can you possibly imagine? SP2 and a driver from WindowsUpdate crash each
other out. Why do they put a driver that didn't even pass the Compatibility
Test (computer pops me up during the install)?

Things going crazy more and more these days. At least at my office, a
software house.
