PA, it looks like Kris is from Microsoft.

And when did you start setting the rules for this or any other Microsoft
hosted newsgroup? Who are you to say what XP should be supported in an XP
general newsgroup?

Robear is talking about Beta software and he is correct in his assertion.

I don't care if Kris is from Microsoft, I don't answer to him or anyone else
in Redmond.

Anyone who needs/wants support for WinXP SP3 RC2 will find the best support
in the forum established for it. I only posted to point this out to others
who may seek such support.

There's a tradition of longstanding in the MS public newsgroups of not
supporting beta software, no matter whose software it is. If you don't like
it, you don't have to abide by our tradition.

And WE DO NOT ANSWSER TO YOU OR MVPS OR MICROSOFT.

Thank you Robear !

Microsoft loves unpaid Beta testers. The MS News Groups are full of posts of things gone
bad by users installing MS Beta level software.

Err... Hrmph... You might add that the MS News Groups are full of posts
about things gone wrong for users installing MS _production_ software...

For those with only dial-up, the RC2 download size is 65.6MB if your SP2
machine has been fully updated.

If, as is likely, the final release is approximately this size -- those of
us who use dial-up can download SP3 when it arrives. We don't have to rely
on a friend burning a standalone or buying the CD from Microsoft.

And on dialup that would take about 6 hours. Whoopee.

As before, you will be able to get the SP3 CD from Microsoft for
F-R-E-E when it is finally released.
