Windows XP reinstalled

I have reinstalled Windows XP on my PC as Windows was
reporting some missing files. I installed it to a
formatted C drive with 10GB capacity.

I keep all my data on my D drive, and since reinstalling
Windows, I can see my D drive in My Computer, but when I
try to access it, I am prompted to format the D drive.

How can I access my data?
 
Brad, rt click on MyComputer>select Manage>Disk Management. If the
drive shows up rt click and assign
a drive letter to it.
