I own windows xp professional on a dell computer that
came with the computer. I have the upgrade disd for prof
but do not have the key code. recently bought a new
computer with xp home edit. on it. any help will be
appreciated. thanks

You can't. Your disk is OEM and tied to the original system. Even if it
isn't BIOS locked, it is activated on that system. You would not be able to
activate it on the Sony. XP can only be activated on one system at a time.
If you never had to activate, it was likely activated at the factory or, as
I stated above, BIOS locked.
