help !! i am trying to use the backup utility and i am wanting to backup to
an external hard drive, the compute tells me it is there but when i run
backup and browse looking for it all i get is an instrution to put a floopy
disk in drive a ,which i believe is the default HOW DO I GET BACKUP TO SEE MY
EXTERNAL DRIVE ??????

I use a 250 GB external hard drive on a daily basis to back up material.

With the hard drive connected and any power it requires switched on, open
Windows Explorer. You can then drag and drop any files and folders from your
internal drive or drives to your external drive. Good luck.

Follow this:
First, make sure that your External Drive is on and connected.
Run the backup utility...make sure on the first screen that you
have the Wizard Checked
When you select what to backup...select that you want to choose
what you want.
Then select what you want to backup and make sure that you name
the file that you want to backup to at this point
On the next screen where it says to backup A: select browse
If it does not let you choose browse close that screen
and another one will pop up so that you can click (choose)the
proper drive on your External Drive....I assume that you have
already used this drive in the past so that you know the name of the
drive.
Then follow the rest and it should backup correctly
Good Luck

Pssssst ... he said he was wanting to backup to "an external hard drive"
