Windows XP Pro Upgrade Issues

Guest

I've recently upgraded a windows XP Home (SP1) PC to Windows XP Pro (SP1) to
be able to join an Windows 2000 Domain.
The problem occurs when I try to log on to the Domain after the upgrade. It
hangs on 'Applying your personal settings' for about 3 mins. The PCs that
didn't need upgrading (Windows 2000 & Windows XP Pro) logon on fine. Also, on
that upgraded PC, when I try to give that user Admin rights to that local PC
after joining the Domain, I get an error that tells me I need to establish
Trust relations with the domain.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi D,

Did you join that client to the domain yet? Make sure the ipconfig/all shows
that everything is pointing to the server-IP.

The first thing to check is to ensure that the network DNS settings on the
client PC is correct. You should have only one DNS address - the address of
your Active Directory DNS server - and no others.

1- Join Client Computer to Domain ,
( System > Computer Name > network Id )
2- Set Dns Address manual in Local Area Connection or Pass With DHCP.
I hope the problem will be solved.
