RE: Windows XP Pro, Search Function, & Mozilla Foxfire

I have a problem. An item is listed in my bookmarks, yet that same item does
not appear when I do a search [of my own computer].

1. How can this be?

2. How would I deal with it?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

Mozilla Firefox you mean?
The bookmarks in Firefox are not stored like Internet Explorer (individual
..url files) - they are stored in one file.. bookmarks.html.

So the bookmarks are stored right in the program itself, not on/in my
computer like IE's favorites?

Thank you,

No - as I said they are stored in one SINGLE file for all your links - not
individual files (one per link) like Internet Explorer uses.

If you click on the Start Button, select "Run" and type in:

%USERPROFILE%\Favorites

And click OK... That will show you the Internet Explorer favorites folder
and each link(favorite.) Each one is a file onto itself.

If you click on the Start Button, select "Run" and type in:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

And click OK... Then go under the "default.xxx" directory (where xxx could
be an assortment of things) and find the "bookmarks.html", that is the
actual file containing ALL of your bookmarks. It's just a web page that
Firefox uses to organize your links.
