Windows XP Pro on 64-bit system

I just built a 64-bit system (MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and AMD FX53)
Everytime I start to install Windows XP Pro the computer will shutdown
automatically after a few minutes. If I leave the system on in the
BIOS mode and just monitor the temperature settings it will stay on
forever and no there is no overheating problem at all. I did download
the Windows XP Pro 64-bit operating system from Microsoft and when I
used it to install the 64-bit version it works fine, however there are
too many compatibility issues with drivers and games that I can't use
that version at this time. It seems to be driver related (I think),
but have gone as far as upgrading the power supply to a 550W version
and a normal Maxtor 120GB IDE hard drive (it had a 480W power supply
and a Western Digital 160GB SATA drive). Any clues as to what I can
try? I also have the new BFG 6800 Ultra installed (which also worked
fine under the Windows XP Pro 64-bit). Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy Skold
