Windows XP Pro Logon Question

Blaine Hamrick

I have a Windows XP Pro machine with only one user account (mine), and of
course it is the administrator account. I do not have a password set. When
the welcome screen appears I always have to click my own icon to get into
Windows. I would like to go from powerup right into Windows without any
stops along the way, like it does on my Windows XP Home machine. Thank you!

Go to Start/Run, and type 'control userpasswords2'.
From Users Tab, Uncheck "Users must enter ...."

Or

Download and install *TweakUI for XP*

You should NEVER use the Administrator account for day to day access.
Set up a User and give that user Administrator rights to enable you to
do maintenance etc. If your Administrator log-in goes belly-up and that
is the ONLY log-in you have, you cannot access your machine except by
doing a repair install of XP.
