Okay I have a weird one. A user is reporting to me that every so often
their Windows XP Pro machine will just log itself off. They will go to use
it and it will be back at the CTRL-ALT-DEL screen. All programs are closed
when they log back in so this is not just the screensaver locking the
workstation on them. Power management has been disabled and the screensaver
has been disable and it still occurs. Anyone seen this before? All pathces
from Windows Update have been installed antivirus is up to date as well.
Any thoughts are welcomed!

Sure it just wasn't a collegue?

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Nope, this is the owners computer so I doubt anyone would dare, it also
happens when he is at his desk and not using the computer. Ie on the phone
or something.

Anyone with rights could certainly issue a shutdown.exe from their
workstation and then set the shutdown switch to power down, logoff or reboot
a remote computer.

-l -- Logoff
-s -- Shutdown
-m \\computername would take action on the specified computer as long as the
user issuing the command has sufficient rights.
-f -- Forces running applications to close without warning.

Good point,

Not very likely in this office though. I was hoping more for software
glitches or something needing a patch??
