Windows XP Pro - Loading

I have windows XP Pro. After updating the Win XP SP2 my computer takes lot
of time to load. This was not the case before SP2 installation. Also, my
computer now shows "Windows XP" instead of "Windows XP Professional" when
booting the system as well as shutting down.

It would be of great relief if some real gurus in MS helping me for the
right solution for the above problems.

check for any services which fail to load at start up - then disable them
