Windows XP Pro Installation Problem

M

Mike

Hello, i've been having a problem installing Windows XP
Pro on my other computer. Whenever i try to install it it
says to me "Hard Drive not recognized, use a device that
is recognized by Windows" (it's in the setup screen of
Windows XP, when i choose to install a fresh copy to my
hard drive). I'm using a SATA Western Digital 120 GB hard
drive, i never got any drivers for it, and i looked on
the western digital website but i couldn't find any
drivers, it's not as simple as just looking up it's id
number which is (WD1200JD). Any help is greatly
appreciated, Thanks a lot.

You'll need to add the SATA drivers to Windows Setup before Setup can access
SATA devices. For more, please read the thread titled "Can't Install XP Home
on SATA - Intel Accelerator - Wrong Cable" a bit farther down in this
newsgroup.
