I had some problems with XP Home on a machine here so I decided to
reformat and reinstall. I tried installing XP Home and Pro several
times, base, SP1, SP2, and get the same result everytime. After setup
copies all the files over then reboots it will go to a blue screen with
a mouse pointer. Nothing else happens. Any ideas?

You have a virus, buy a copy of ERD Commander, run it. Switch off in registry
all that autorun or run recovery console rename document and settings
directory and restart the installation or install windows xp into a separate
directory.

I doubt its a virus. The HDD was completely formatted. Also, the
laptop came with XP Pro. I was thinking it could be memory, I'm going
to see if I could find some to swap out.
