WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER AND AGE OF EMPIRE

recently i purchased age of empire 2 gold edition since i always enjoyed that
game. i have windows xp. for about 2 months, it was working fine, but now it
does not load. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no use. i don't get
any error message - it simply does not load and goes back to my desktop. my
computer is only 4 months old and i keep it updated with virus protection,
etc. is there some compatibility issue i do not know about and it finally has
"kicked in"? any help is much appreciated. thank you.

After un-installing try a registry clean up (Ccleaner works fine) and
then re-install.

i'm gonna try that now. will let you know. just realized that box aoe2 gold
edition came in, says must accept license agrrement before i can use the
product. i must have done it, since the game was working. now can't remember
if game came with separate piece of paper that i have to agree to. if so,
have to look for it. do you know? thanks!!
