Windows XP licensing problem

I am getting the following message just after login after our building
experienced a power glitch:
"A problem has prevented Windows from accurately checking the status of the
license for this computer. To proceed your copy of windows must be activated
with Microsoft. Do you want to activate windows now? Y/N "

Answering either Yes or No causes the PC to loop back to the Ctrl-Alt-Del
login prompt. I am hoping there is a way to circumvent this without having
to reload the OS. Please help. Thanks!
