windows xp left CTRL key

i have a problem with my pc (windows xp) every time when i press left
CTRL it makes master sound MUTE
how can i solve it ?

Hi,

Some thoughts....

1) A laptop with a stuck FN key? Or the FN, which is often next to the left
CTRL key, is also getting depressed when that key is used.

2) Malfunctioning keyboard - time for a new one.

3) Key mapping software installed and running?
