problem is?....Thanks

Sounds like you might have a bad cluster on the HD. Try running SpinRite to
find/fix hard errors. I had a similar probelms and replacing the HD made it all
better ;)

It sounds like you need to install (or reinstall) the video card
drivers.

windows after the error message

I thought you said you could get into Safe Mode. In Safe Mode:

1. go to Start >Run and type (without quotes) "msconfig" [enter]
2. Click the BOOT.INI tab.
3. Under Boot Options, check "/BASEVIDEO" and click OK.
4. Reboot the computer as prompted.

Hopefully, this will get you to regular mode and you can reinstall the
proper video drivers from the card mftr.'s website. Of course, I'm not
sure what state the installation is in now from information provided in
your post, and you didn't give any system specs. I'm just assuming the
problem is with the video drivers because of the "sis" you reference.
If you can't do the above or that doesn't solve the issue, please post
back to this thread with more information about your sister's computer
(specs) and exactly what you've done.
