No I have not because it happened after I got the w32blaster.worm. I went
throught all of the procedures to fix the virus and it worked fine to get
rid of iy but now I have this problem. I would think that someone from
microsoft would know what is causing it.

I have an HP computer that when you tell it to shut down
or restart the screen blinks once and does nothing.
Normally you can press the power button once and it is
supposed to shut down also but that gives the same
results. I looked in the event viewer and every time you
ask it to shut down or restart it gives an event id of
1073 and says "An attempt to reboot has failed." What can
I do to fix this problem. I have not found anything about
it on microsofts support page.

Wow, you really are an optimist, aren't you! I would trust in someone who
actually has some investment in your satisfaction, rather than microsuck,
who really doesn't care about you at all. This problem has been around for
years. Microsoft knew about this vulnerability since NT4.0 came out. They
have just now decided to do something about it. That should tell you lots
about how much they care. On the other hand, HP wants your repeat business
and would most likely be willing to go to the limits to get your machine
running properly once again. Give them a call.
