Hello,
Can anyone tell how to fix this. Do I need to reinstall something, don't
know how it got messed up or when.
When I click to Start Service, I receive the following error message:
Service can't be started cause file can't be found. Error Code 2.
But the file is there where the target is pointing. To Windows, System32,
lsass.exe and if I click on lsass.exe, nothing happens.

Thank you

This could be a system error or a virus infection.

Run a full anti-virus scan with updated definitions. Make if you find a
virus and advise here the name of the virus and the anti-virus programme
detecting the virus.

If no virus is found look in the System log of Event Viewer around when the
error occurs and a copy of any Warning or Error Report you find.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, Event
Viewer.
HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Produc...

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

Thanks Gerry, for answering me so quickly,
I had no virus, but I fixed it anyway, merged the registry key from another
computer whose protected storage was working fine and merged it into the one
with the problem, and deleted the primary one that wasn't working and voila!
Back in business.
Thank you again.
