Windows XP Home Lockdown

Is it possible to perform a lockdown an a windows home
based machine. I know it can be done on a Pro machine
using the group policy mmc snapin, but that doesnt exist
in the home edition. Ive just picked up a new site who
for some reason have 22 * windows XP home machines on a
network with a windows 2000 "server" (obviously no
domain) but sharing files etc.

They want some security and was wondering can i lock them
down or do i need to upgrade them all to XP Pro

Thanks

You can ugrade them to Pro and use GPEDIT. Or you can see www.dougknox.com,
Win XP Utilities, Windows XP Security Console. Version 1.4 is currently
available, and version 2 is on its way with even more of the restriction
from GPEDIT.
