Don't know how it happened but the 'Add/Remove programs' icon in Control
Panell shows a void (just the greyed out windows logo).

Also, when selecting 'Tools/Internet Options', I only get the tabs relating
to 'Privacy' (incomplete) and 'Programs'

As a result I cant install/uninstall, clear files, history etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Not a novice but limited ability in the Registry!

Hi Jose - thanks for your prompt response. For the appwiz.cpl problem,
nothing happens when I run it as you suggest. It is however in several
places on the PC - notably 'windows/system32' etc

Just about to try your suggestion for the second item.

Try this for Add/Remve, Start > Run and type in

regsvr32 appwiz.cpl

and restart Windows. Does it open now?
