Hi,
I' ve P-4 2.4 with 256 MB RAM installed Windows XP Pro SP-2 &
Motherboard is P4VP-MX from Asus..

Recently the PC hangs after several minutes without any such noticable
application running.. everytime it hangs,.. i havn't noticed any common
application running.. but most of time Windows Media Player was playing
song with DFX,, but not all the time.

I've recently installed Power DVD, & then it starts hang,,, of course
it hangs even when power dvd was not running... Before this
installation, i've never encountered such problem. But after this
installation, PC hangs even no such music playing software was running.

I've uninstalled the PowerDVD, but it still hangs.. Also tried
Restoring to the earlier time when it was not installed, but it didnt
solve the problem..

There is also one thing noticable, i.e., my old SMPS was not operating
properly and there was an fluctuations in 3.3v.. it goes down to around
2.94-2.96v... & it hanged at that time.... but i've noticed only it
twice.. Then, I got it checked & replaced the SMPS,, which is operating
well.. But the problem of Hang was there...

After restoring to earlier time, i think there should not be any
problem in win xp.. But the pc hangs just even if only one program was
running there. Even i'm unable to launch Windows Task Manager..... the
only way out is Restart the PC. But even after restarting PC, Windows
XP doesn't report any damage/transfer report to microsoft server...like
earlier time when PC hangs or something unusual happen, win xp reports
it to microsoft.

I have checked with Spybot S & D for any spyware but found none.. also
scanned whole computer using Avast Home Antivirus but found none.. but
problem stays there...

I want to know what are the possible causes of PC Hang, .. is it
somewhere in hardware or some software creating trouble for me.

I've also used ccleaner to clean my pc.

Thanks in Advance for your answer
