Windows XP hangs with EventSystem 4609

Hi all,

When I have this error system, Windows XP hangs, my mouse
did not work and CTRL-ALT-DELETE did nothing.. the only
thing I can do is puch the ON/OFF computer button.

I was looking for this ErrorSystem 4609 but could not
find any hint.

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during
its internal processing. HRESULT was 800706BA from line
44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1
\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product
Support Services to report this error.

Any suggestions ?

I had the same issue this past week on my Win XP Home System. THE X
boot screen would load into the boot menu screen or freeze at a certai
point. By researching, some things pointed to the Blaster Worm as wel
as something with Windows Update. NO Blaster. More than 1/2 of m
windows updates needed to be reinstalled. This solved all the issues.
