Every time my computer restarts I find my Windows XP Firewall disabled. Im
having to enable it each time I start my computer. I dont recall having this
problem until after upgrading to SP2. Im connecting through a cable modem and
Im not running any other firewalls. Does someone have any idea why this could
be?

Are you sure you're not running any other firewalls? What antivirus are
you using? Recent versions of Norton AV have "Internet worm protection"
included, which is a firewall.

Also, check in Event Viewer for clues:

Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter]

For further help, please include the full and exact text of any error
messages and the missing information requested above.

I am using Norton Anti-Virus Protection, its an older version, and I do have
the auto-protect feature on. I also do have ZoneAlarm Firewall downloaded on
my computer but I keep that disabled at all times (it does not load on
startup either). I am not receiving any error messages. Also can you be a
little more specific on what exactly I am looking for in the event viewer?

Thank you

There is no need to go further with this with Event Viewer. You *are*
running other firewalls. Just having ZA installed will do this. If you
don't want to use ZA, uninstall it completely. Follow ZA's
uninstallation instructions here:

http://www.nohold.net/noHoldCust25/Prod_1/Articles55646/CompleteUninstallNonNT.html

If your Norton AV version is older than 2006, you need to replace it
ASAP. Recommended antivirus programs are NOD32, Kaspersky, or Avast if
you want a free one. Do not install the new antivirus program until
you've 1) made sure your computer is clean (see next item); 2) you've
completely uninstalled Norton.

Based on your posts, I would also strongly suggest you go through at
least the basic virus/malware scanning steps below:

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to
do all scans in Safe Mode.
