Windows XP firewall performance

When I bring up Windows Firewall, both manual and using the setup wizard my
Internet performance is terrible. I can bring up my purchased firewall and
it runs fine. Any suggestions?

There's no need for you to use both as your purchased firewall protects
against both incoming and outgoing while the Windows Firewall only protects
against incoming and gives you nothing that your purchased firewall doesn't
give you.

If you mean your performance is terrible when you run both at the same time,
it might well be because you are running both.

If you mean performance is terrible when you run the Windows Firewall and
only the Windows firewall, it's possible it may have a default setting that
is causing an issue for your setup.
