Windows XP Defragmenter won't work

E

Erik

I open the disk defragmenter in Windows XP Home Eduition.
I highlight my c: drive and tell it to defragment...It
just sits there and does nothing. I try to click
analyze...again, nothing. I am the only user on this
computer and I am no computers are networked with my
computer. I just receiently upgraded from Windows 98 SE.
I have had several problems, so this could be another
one. E-mail me if you need more information.

Thanks,
Erik

Although any user can gain access to the Disk Defragmenter tool, the ability to analyze or defragment a volume requires administrator privileges. To run the defragmentation operation, you must be logged on as an administrator or as a member of the local Administrators group.

Hope this helps.
