Windows XP Crashing

My PC keeps crashing, and when it starts I get this
message. "One of your disks needs to be checked for
consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is
strongly recommended that you continue"

anyone know what this is about or how to fix it please??

It usually means that you didn't shut down properly and
Windows wants to check to make sure it wasn't caused by a
problem with the hard disk, and so it runs a check. Let
it run, it'll more than likely be fine.

Did you run the disk check? What were the results?

Let it run but be aware that it might take a very long time. Try leaving it
running overnight.
