WINDOWS XP: Converting PDD pic to JPEG format

D

Dave Stearns

I recently acquired a new Dell computer (Windows XP)and
transferred to its hard drive hundreds of photos
previously stored on the machine which it replaced. Many -
- alas, too many -- of those pics were in the PDD format,
and, for some reason, will not open on the new Windows XP
set up. I have installed on the new machine my prior
Adobe PhotoDeluxe (Home Ed.) program, but the only picture
I can get is either (i) the thumbnail, which appears after
I click "Properties" and then click on the
tab "PhotoDeluxe Image", or (ii) the thumbnail I get when
I click and drag the picture's icon into the "EasyPhoto"
(program) box. NEITHER thumbnail is manipulable to any
degree, and NEITHER can be converted to a JPEG format (so
that I could manipulate, store, etc).

Any solutions out there?

I'm not certain that I understand the explanation...
are you saying that Adobe PhotoDeluxe will not
allow you to view the .pdd files?

Seems to me that if you *can* open the files in
PhotoDeluxe you could use the Export feature
to save the files in a more compatible format...
..jpg, .png, .tif, etc.
