I recently .installed a hard drive and tried to get Windows to detect the
new drive. I set the jumpers for Master and Slave but XP did not display
the message "New Hardware Found" The Message I did get, was "No Device
Found" Is there anything I can do to get this new hardware install in
Windows. Note:

I did go in my CMOS to see if the hard drive was indicated there. I also
went into Fdisk and did not see the drive there. I have set the jumpers
correctly as noted in the manual and nothing works.

I have data on that drive and I do not want to format the drive. This drive
was set to be a master once upon a time and there are files and programs
that I need to get off that drive. If anyone out there can give me the
secret, I would be very happy.

You probably have an ntfs partition or you need to set
the drive jumpers to cable select.
