Windows XP acivation popup window

I've been using an OEM version of Windows XP, activated and registered,
for a few months. Suddenly I'm getting a nag window when I boot up,
saying that my installation has changed and needs activating again. It
asks if I want to activate online. When I click on OK, it says that my
installation has now been activated. This is without me being connected
to the internet. This has happened twice so far. When I go to System
Tools to check my activation, it says it's already activated. I'm
worried that eventually I might not be able to boot up windows if I
can't resolve this. Can anybody help please?

It may be that the activation wasn't properly recorded in the
system's registry, or that portion of the registry has been damaged.
Try this solution, posted by Carey Frisch, MS-MVP:

Boot into "Safe Mode" by pressing (F8) during a reboot.

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and
hit enter again.

Many thanks for that. It's happened twice to date, but last time I
re-booted everything was OK. I'll keep your suggestion and try it if I
have any more trouble.
