Windows won't recognize network card

Dear All,
I have reinstalled a new version of Windows xp on my PC. But it doesn't
recognize my lan card, though it was working perfectly under the previous
OS. I can't find the driver online, it is said Windows XP has already the
drivers for that card. So anyone to help me solve this problem?

When you say "doesn't recognize", do you mean that it doesn't find the
physical hardware? If that is the case and nothing shows up in Device
Manager for the NIC, open the case (while the computer is off and
unplugged!) and reseat the NIC. Put it in a different pci slot. If it
is an onboard NIC, make sure it is enabled in the BIOS. Or just buy
another NIC and stick it in - they are usually under $15usd.
