This is the message I get at the blue screen of death
after about 10 seconds of trying to login to windows.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer.

PAGE_FAULT_IN _NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the firts time you've seen this stop error
screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears
again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is
properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask
your hardware or software manufacuturer for any windows
updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly
installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory
options suchas caching or shadowing. If you need to use
Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options,
and then select Safe Mode

This will arise if code that is considered so central that it may not be
paged out to the page file has generated an error. As this is mostly
system code that is very highly tested, trouble with RAM (or corruption
of the code on hard disk) is the most likely reason. But there are some
packages that also put some of their code here - an example is Norton
Internet Security. If you have installed anything of that sort, try
uninstalling again; and do a check of the memory with Memtest86 from
www.memtest86.com

For more specific possibilities, go to http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
and click on 50 in the left panel
