my windows xp will not start when i turn on computer:
it says: windows could not start because the following
file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I recieved a message that windows could not start because the file
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is missing or corrupt. The only way I could
find around this is to reinstall XP.In the last 2 months i've reinstalled XP
20 times.Can anybody out there help me ? .

There's an easier way - try this:

Start - Run - type in SFC /SCANNOW
Follow instructions. When asked for disc, use XP recovery disc.

This worked fine for me and avoided all the messing about with registry
settings etc.
