Hello all,

Before a finished Windows Vista will be put on the market,
i want to see that M$ will test all todays known spyware,
mallware, virusses, loggers, worms etc on their new OS
without the use of third party security tools.
Otherwise it will be a never ending story of
Patches and hotfixes. Your opinion please.

Please visit the group dedicated to Windows Vista, as your text concerns the
operating system, not the antispyware application.

By the way - did you ask the same question to other big applications
developers? Why not? They (what a shame!) provide fixes and patches, too..

Hello Mikolaj,
Please visit the group dedicated to Windows Vista, as your text concerns the
operating system, not the antispyware application.
--> this is absolutely not off topic because i wrote this
message in the news item ONLINE COMMUNITY and all problems
mentioned in the newsgroup are related to the OS.
By the way - did you ask the same question to other big
applications
--->Yes but an application is NOT an OS. You build
an house from the ground not from the roof.
developers? Why not? They (what a shame!) provide fixes and patches, too..
because Microsoft let holes in the OS so Big that a truck
can drive true.

If Microsoft cannot deliver a very very secure OS like
WINDOWS VISTA then on the WINDOWS BOX or DVD/CD they have
to place a written sentence like:

WARNING: We cannot garantee the safety of this OS when it
is connected to the internet.

I'am a network engineer, why do you think TCO is going to
the sky. Everytime testing en implementing all FIXES to
prevent that some application won't work after
implementation off those fixes.

Vista is being tested, by many thousands of testers, in the real world.

I don't know that they are doing literally what you suggest, but I believe
that they have your concerns in mind and considerably more, in terms of
adding to the security of the platform.

This article has some information on the topic:

Hi Bill,

I read that article and maybe the best thing what
microsoft can do is to seperate the internet explorer
completely from the operating system by running it in a
virtual machine. Program updates or other software must
not have direct access to the OS. OS updates via internet
can only be done with update programs installed by user
interaction and must be started manually or by scheduling
outside the virtual internet explorer.
If there something wrong with the virtual machine you
delete it and create a new one.

regards Jan
