Running Vista on a Virtual Machine no device sound detected, HP Compaq dc7100
SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio

The soundmax doesn't matter. The virtual machine has its own emulated
soundcard. You do not say what software you are using, VPC, Virtual Server,
VMWare, or Parallels, so I cannot help you further.
