I have a computer that is being upgraded and meets the oem, upgrade criteria. My question is: Can I use Windows XP Home oem to install over windows 98se? Oh do we have to use windows XP home upgrade?

You will need the XP retail home upgrade. Oems will probably be locked to
the computer that they were sold with. Jym

Greetings --

You'll want to use the WinXP Upgrade license, if you want to
perform an upgrade.

An OEM CD cannot be used to perform an upgrade of an earlier OS,
as it was designed to be installed _only_ upon an empty hard drive.
It can still be used to perform a repair installation (a.k.a. an
in-place upgrade) of an existing WinXP installation.
