Windows Updates

I have only dial-up in my area with a max connection of
28.8K. It takes several hours to download and install any
of the Critical Windows updates. Is there another method
I can use to get the updates? Can they be received via
CD, or can I save the updates to a laptop and then upload
them to my desktop?

Any other suggestions?

You can take the "network install" downloads and keep them on your laptop
for loading to the other computer. Install SP1a first and then the "rollup".
That will take care of most of the critical updates. The others can be
installed in any order.
