HI
I have an ISA 2000 Server in my network.i have WIndows 2000 and XP Clients
in my environment.i cannot run the Windows updates on my desktops. It is
connecting to the microsoft Windows update information, collecting the
computer information and then giving an error as:
The Website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view.
[Error number:0x80072f78]
The clients have microsoft ISA Firewall client configured.i went to
microsoft KB Articles and created destination sets for WIndows Update
sites,Site and Content rules and Access policy to allow HTTP and HTTPS for
windows update through ISA 2000 Server.
i have Surf Control filter running on the ISA 2000 Server.i thought that is
creating the problems si i disabled and ran the Windows update again on the
clients,
still i am getting the same error.
i can run the windows update on the clients by bypassing ISA 2000 Server.
do i have to make some additional configuration on ISA 2000 Server.
Please Advice.
cheers,
fasahat

Since you seem to have isolated it to being an issue with ISA configuration
I would suggest that you also post in one of the ISA newsgroups. You may
also want to enable and check the logs on your ISA server to see if you find
any blocked traffic that may help determine what needs to be changed. ---
