Why won't Windows Update run on this PC, new formatted
hard drive with new XP home install. Error code is
0x800A138F. Checked on web site, had had 2 fixes, neither
worked. Help!

Make sure that the date and time on your computer is correct. I had a problem with Windows Update and it turned out that my date was set to 2000, not 2004.
