Windows Update

-- I am running windows x p home edtion & have updates turned on
after the update is installed the you have update icon in the tray on the
bottom right hand corner of the screen still stays there & says you have
updates ready to install i have installed update again but update icon
still there What can i do to remove it as i keep installing the same update
all the time. any ideas

Specifically, which update keeps prompting to reinstall ... and, was the
system restarted after the installation was completed ?
