This doesn't sound like windows update virus, it sounds more like you didn't
have a firewall going
nor much of a protection against active x invasion, and you replied yes, to
restart without checking
in detail the source of the reboot request.
I suggest you get more educated about how to protect your pc from the
various methods used to
infect your pc. ie spyware/malware windows messenger and other multiple
methods used.

and your post is not very detailed, is there some question your asking? if
not it's an uninformed FYI

You could try the security/virus discussion/community group on the web
interface. I think you may be there now.

The BEST method to use is to dumb this insecure toy operating system and
install a real operating system such as GNU/Linux. Of course this may
require the user "get more educated", but it is a highly recommended and
sure-fire way to overcome all this silly Windoze malware.

Sure. Install a knock-off of a 40-year old operating system designed by a
money-losing division of your local telephone company and whose commands
were designed by people who believe MSDOS directives are not arcane enough.

As for "malware," the most destructive virus in the history of computing --
based on percentage of machines infected -- occured on a Unix box.

No, Linux is the pap for those afflicted with the Microsoft Derangement
Syndrome.
