Windows update quit working

I manage multiple win2k computers at a school. I was trying to check Windows
Update to see if there are any updates since I last checked. The Update page
gave the message to enable the activex control for Win Update but the info
bar did not show so that I could enable the activex code. What can I do?

goto the windows directory, then downloaded programs. then unistall WUUpdate
or something. then try again.
