Windows update problem?

Hello Everyone,

I tried to do a Windows Update for XP and it analyzed my computer and told
me that there were six critical updates.

The updates downloaded fine but during install I got a message saying that
the updates had "Not Passed Windows Logo Testing" and I pressed the OK
button.

But the updates do not install. It shows the list of six as not installed in
red on the Microsoft Update page.

Why is this happening and how do you get them to install - or should you?

"Not Passed Windows Logo Testing" ? sound more like a driver update VERY bad
idea to use from winupdate.

That message can occur even with MS updates, and driver updates don't
show up as critical updates. But yes one should not download driver
updates from the MS Windows update site.

The second link you suggested had the fix. I have a relatively new install
of XP and the "Cryptographic Services" was disabled by default. I simply
made it automatic and it worked fine. By the way, these were all security
updates rather than drivers.

Is there any problem with having Cryptographic Services on automatic?

I'm not aware of any security or other problems associated with it.
Mine's set on automatic and have had no problems. You're welcome and
