Windows Update Freeze 0%; Ebay timeout; Fidelity timeout

Need help here, very frustrated. Windows Update freezes at 0%......
Ebay front page loads but no other link on that site works, it
timesout......same with Fidelity.com, front page loads but no other
link works.

Is this a component of internet explorer that isnt working right??
I think this problem happened after we got hit with spyware, adware,
hijack etc... Once I cleaned up the PCs, we noticed those pages
wouldnt work right.

I've searched online, and tried reinstalling script 5.6, ....we arent
running netsonic....

This is at a business, we have 5 pcs with a caymen router, dell switch
on bellsouth extreme adsl.

Any suggestions is appreciated

Follow the four steps in yellow on this link to help verify the
computer is clean:

Do the other computers on the network work OK or is this all
computers?
If all computers, it is most likely something with your ISP, router
etc.

sorry to mention, yes all 5 pcs have this problem. One PC actually
goes into ebay a step further but timesout on searches and item lists.

I've done norton AV, hijack this, cwshredder, adware 6.0,
spybot....doesnt matter.

Enable the Internet Connection Firewall on one computer:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=283673
Then connect that computer directly to the internet bypassing the
router, switch etc.
You may want to try this with 2 different computers.

Ok figured it out.......caymen router tech rep said to try changing
MTU. He said something in bellsouth system or somewhere down the line
changed and the PC's default 1500 MTU isnt working.

I used DR TCP and changed it to 1400 and everything works.......
