Windows Update Error

Hi. When I try to check for updates, etc. for Windows XP
(Home) I get an Error Message 0x800A138F. Prior to the
Blaster hoopla, I never had a problem with updates, etc.
on a regular basis. Unfortunately, MS' support and
troubleshooting on this issue is non-existent.

Any ideas? I'm not a "techie" but I try to keep my system
updated and protected as a much as possible.

I have the same problem. It may have something to do
with Microsoft switching to the Akamai Server for
updates, but i don't know what to do about it either.
 
In a very helpful email, I was advised to disable Ad-Free
due to the switch to Akamai. It did the trick, and I was
able to get my updates without any problems.
