windows update error 0x8DDD0003

When I go through the linked kb, the pc still fails to do the WU and still
get the same error message. Also noticed that CP>Automatic Updates, the
Automatic/Turn off automatic options, I am unable to check anyone of them,
In Rnun>services.msc > Automatic Updates are set at automatic and
'started'.Any idea how can I resolved the issue // Thanks
 
Ya, it was shut out because the AVG8.0 I had before was not working properly
so I uninstalled it just before I post it. Since they have responded, I
re-installed it and as well as NAV2009, both now give clean bills and as well
as systom.exe been removed, but still unable to do WU (same error message).

Just noticed that when I double click my C: drive, it ask me to "open with
with" program so guess there are more problems than just the WU. Hope you
will be kind enough to guide as how can I resolve the issue. Appreciate if
you can assist, thanks a lot.

Downloded the 3 fixes from the link onto 3 separate folders on desktop,
extract into the same folder and run and "yes' reboot pc. Upon reboot, still
unable to open say the C: by double click it and still ask you to "open
with". I can see the content of C: if I use this method, right click
start>explorer.........any other ideas, thanks for your time
