Windows Update (ERROR 0x800A138F)

P

Paul

Hello Readers

Has anyone experience Windows Update producing the
following response after pressing the SCAN for updates on
an XPPRo machine with or withing Anti-Virus/Firewall
disabled.

Windows XPpro has worked with out problems for the past
year. Some time in the past few weeks since I last did
an update it no longer works

I have search Technet (no record of the error)
Windows update FAQ and also trawled through this news
group over the past two weeks.

In Desparation I have reapplied XPPro SP1 which did not
fix it. And also manually installed the latest Windows
UPdate version.

Hoping someone has an answer, as it will be painfull
going back to manully patching the system with all the
security issues being raise in recent months

Copy of the error message follows.

Look forward to any feedback, pointers

Thanks for the URL

so far have worked through to page 15
and still looking for the fix.

Will start again tomorrow. In case I missed anything on
the first past through all the steps/fixes.

Looks like I'll be ending up with a manual system until
the akamai site is fixed.
Kept me bemused for the past three hours.
