Windows Update Critical Files only

OS - Windows XP Home.
Question: When I set the Automatic Updates to "Automatically download teh
updates, and install them on the schedule that I specify" does it only
download and install the critical updates or does it also download and
install the Windows XP and Driver Updates?

If it does the latter, is there some way to set it so that only the Critical
Updates and Service Packs with be automatically downloaded and installed?

While I have not tested this explicitely, as far as I remember I only
got the Critical Updates when AU was running here.s
 
Automatic Updates feature notifies you when critical updates are available
for your computer.
